27. Training exercises
Every ski-er knows how important it is to be in good condition and in training when the winter season starts.
The best way to achieve this is to carry out a number of systematic exercises.
It just isn't any inn to discover, when you're ski-ing in the mountains, that you're not in first-class shape. You lose half the fun of skiing.
Before setting oil on your skis <an\ out a number of limbering up exercises, in order to give your body the right rhythm and flexibility.

|
Assume a full ‹‹snow plough›› position. Sit right down on the left haunch. Stretch out your right leg to its fullest extent. Rock gently up and down. Stand up, and rotate the body to the right. Repeat the same exercise, sitting on the right ski. Sticks should be point ins backwards.
|
Skis parallel and together. Knees lull bend, so that the legs and thighs are pressed well together. Heels on the skis. Arms stretched out in hunt to give balance. Repeat this exercises several times.
